Stream Bub Styles’ ‘Fatboy Sessions’ LP

Brooklyn rapper Bub Styles stopped by the DopeHouse on Tuesday with “FDW” — a money-centric single featuring CJ Fly of Pro Era. It was the first single from his Fatboy Sessions LP, which dropped yesterday.

Lasting 11 songs, Bub collaborates with Hannibal King on nearly every track while 21 Quest, Ace Fayce and more join the credits. Bub’s sound isn’t anything new, but it pays homage to hip-hop’s roots with simple boom-bap production, scratches and intercut vocal samples laying as the backdrop to lyrics full of pain, struggle and self-discovery.
