Yuna & Usher Perform “Crush” w/ The Roots

If there was anything I was really interested in seeing at one of the three festivals in the Northeast this past weekend, it was Usher and The Roots‘ set at The Roots Picnic in Philly. Looking back, I’m cool with missing out on the rain at Governors Ball, the cancelled sets at Summer Jam and the Yeezus Mob in the early hours of Monday morning. But even if it was rain or shine, a late start or I had to push through a mob of thousands to see it, if I was in a couple hundred miles of seeing Usher and The Roots perform together live, I would’ve done it.

Though there’s scarcely been footage released of the set (which is fine, though I’m sure the world would love to see what went down in Philly on that Saturday evening), Yuna shared a clip of her and Usher playing their duet, “Crush,” during the performance. Shot from in front of the first row, the two bounced around the stage with an intimate fever taking what I’m sure was a calming break from the energy of The Roots and Usher clashing.

Watch the performance below.
