A few days before Kendrick Lamar surprised fans across the globe with the release of his untitled unmastered project, Top Dawg Entertainment sent out a tweet with a photo showing the label’s release schedule for 2016.

On that list contained two releases from a pair of “John Does”—with one already in “second stage creative.”

Since the cryptic announcement, we’ve learned that Lance Skiiiwalker — another Windy City artist who has worked with the label and its stable of artists in the past — has risen through the ranks of TDE to become their latest signee.

There’s been speculation to who “John Doe 2” was, and while it’s not officially confirmed to be him, Kembe X has pledged his loyalty to the Top Dawn Entertainment conglomerate.

Revealed last night through a series of Tweets, the Chicago emcee shared an image of him rocking his TDE chain—which makes “Caged Bird” with Isaiah Rashad “As I Unfold” with Ab-Soul make more sense, right?

If you frequent the DopeHouse, you should be well aware of Kembe X—he was first posted around these parts in 2011 and we’ve championing his talents ever since. He even graced the artwork to last week’s Weekly Dope playlist.

UPDATE: Top Dawg himself just sent out the following tweet regarding the entire situation. Apparently Kembe is not signed to TDE, so we got trolled pretty hard. Again.
