For the last week and change, we’ve been treated to several freestyles from the 2016 XXL Freshman class — with Anderson .Paak, G Herbo, and Lil Dicky completely showing out.
Yesterday, Dave East’s freestyle went up and it’s hard to argue his isn’t the best so far. On top of the bars, East also shared a few details about his early days in East Harlem, hustling to get by, and future plans with Mass Appeal — including his new mixtape, Kairi Chanel, dropping July 22nd!
Included in the bio piece was a clip of an upcoming DJ Drama-led cypher between East and G Herbo. And considering these two are some of the realest in the pack, I couldn’t help but put something in the air via Twitter.

Now, I’m sure it had nothing to do with the collaboration, but it’s still fantastic that we’re treated with a new collaboration the following day.
