J57 & Sür Niles (of Pro Era) – “Smoke Bomb”

Sür Niles of Pro Era may not be as widely known as Joey, Nyck Cautuion, Kirk Knight, Dessy Hinds, Lee Bannon or CJ Fly, but the Crooklyn-reppin producer/designer is responsible for some of the vintage 90s sounds behind a few of your favorite PE bangers.

It’s also no secret (or maybe it is?) that J57 is a fan of, and in some ways, associated with the PE collective, so it was only right that these two highly-sought after producers link up.

The result of their studio collaborative work is “Smoke Bomb,” a dusty, basement number that evokes feelings of classic, light jazz from the 30s and 40s, pompadour hairstyles, fedoras, mobsters, women wearing halo hats and black gloves, Blue Note Records, Jessica Rabbit seducing men in a swanky dive bar and everything in between.
