ScHoolBoy Q’s Blank Face LP sold over 74,000 copies (after streaming) to help it debut at No. 2 on on the Billboard 200 charts.

Drake’s VIEWS sold 92,000 more copies — with a ton of help of it being one of the most streamed projects ever — which helped it return to the No. 1 spot on the charts. It had spent nine weeks there before Blink 182’s new album, California, took the top spot from Drake for a week.

The Blank Face LP numbers are more than half of what Q sold with his last album, Oxymoron, almost two-and-a-half years ago in its first week, where sold about 133,000 copies. But given the advances in streaming — in both the amount people do it and how much it counts for album sales — the numbers aren’t too surprising.

Much like fellow West Coast rapper YG, ScHoolBoy’s first-week sales dropped from debut to sophomore efforts despite the second album receiving more general acclaim than the first.

Either way, congrats to Q, and stay tuned for more tour dates as he just finished up his Pit Stops across America. Watch the three parts to his Blank Face short film, too.
