SWEET CHRISTMAS!

The 2016 San Diego Comic Con is officially underway, and much like last year, expect to be spoiled with plenty of news, teasers, trailers and more; just enough to quench any comic nerd/fanboy’s thirst. Barely.

Earlier today, Marvel unveiled their 13-foot tall bronze statue of Captain America, whom celebrates his 75th anniversary this year at SDCC, and for those who are not in attendance, don’t fret. Marvel reports that “the commemorative statue will travel cross country to the Steve Roger’s hometown — Brooklyn, NY — where it will be on temporary display in the Children’s Corner of Prospect Park for two weeks.”

If that wasn’t enough, Marvel premiered exclusive teasers of two of their upcoming Netflix-exclusive properties: Luke Cage and The Defenders, with some of the cast of the former stopping by to chat with Jeph Loeb and friends.

While we’re still very far off from seeing The Defenders on the small screen (we’re still awaiting the Iron Fist solo series, also a Netflix-exclusive), the premiere date for Luke Cage — which will be scored by Ali Shaheed-Muhammad & Adrian Younge — is just two months out.

Clocking in at just under 1 1/2 minutes, this brand new teaser does a great job at not giving away any plot details, and instead shows the brute/superhuman force of Power Man, his unbreakable skin and his ravenous appetite to bring justice to the city of Harlem. Watch the Luke Cage and The Defenders teasers after the jump.

Watch all episodes of Luke Cage — starring Mike Colter, Mahershala Ali (Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes), Alfre Woodard (Mariah Dillard), Simone Missick (Misty Knight), Theo Rossi (Shades), Frank Whaley (Rafael Scarfe), Erik LaRay Harvey (Willis Stryker/Diamondback), Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple) and Sônia Braga (Soledad Temple) — Sept. 30th, only on Netflix.

“After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) becomes a fugitive who attempts to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But soon he is pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city – forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.”

As if that wasn’t enough, Marvel also decided to share a first look at Iron Fist — starring Game Of Thrones star Finn Jones as Danny Rand.
