North Carolina’s Fluent, whom in the past has collaborated with the likes of Joe Budden, Nipsey Hussle, Royce Da 5’9″ and French Montana is back and ready to take more names for the latter half of 2016.
Today, Fluent links up with producer D.R.U.G.S. (Ty Dolla $ign, Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre) on “Now You Know.” Set up as the lead single for his forthcoming LP Carolinafornia Nightmare, “Now You Know” flips a sample (or perhaps interpolates) Michael Jackson’s “Beat It,” while allowing enough breathing room for the Los Angeles-based emcee to confidently let you know his step-by-step plans of taking your girl from off your arm, while craftily inserting references to MJ, Freeway and Beanie Sigel, Doctor Strange and more.
