I must say, I’ve come along way from being a true Waka Flocka hater to a full-fledged fan after hearing his 2014 mixtape I Can’t Rap vol. 1. Sure, I may have lost a few friends and the respect of peers along the way, but one can’t deny that the South Jamaica, Queens-born ATLien can actually put together some pretty ill bars.
But, to paraphrase what Meka stated in this post for Flockavelli and Southside’s LeBron Flocka James vol. 4: “Sometimes he can get crunk, other times he can get lyrical.”
For his latest drop, Flocka connects with acclaimed Colorado producer Pretty Lights for “Get Busy,” which is a unique blend of hard-rock/garage-rock and trap music. It’s certainly no “Firing Squad” remix, but perhaps it’d be better suited as part of your daily workout playlist.
