Over the weekend, Birdman — the head of Cash Money Records — took to Instagram to announce the label had signed a “bigger than life” deal with Apple Music. He confirmed the deal posting a picture with Apple Music’s head of content, Larry Jackson.

According to Music Business Worldwide, the deal will include a documentary about Birdman and the beginnings of Cash Money produced by Apple Music along with some sort of exclusive deal for the label’s artists.

The site noted Drake — a signee of Young Money, thus Cash Money also, signed a $19 million deal with Apple last year, so it’s unclear what artists, from Lil Wayne to Nicki Minaj, this deal will affect.

Now maybe Birdman can take some of this check and pay it back to Young Money. Or maybe he can let Lil Wayne drop an album again. But we’ll most likely have to wait for a Birdman or Rich Gang album to get the first sampling of what this deal means.
