Teyana Taylor Said Some Of Her Jaw-Dropping “Fade” Choreography Was Meant For Beyoncé

Sunday night, if you didn’t know Teyana Taylor, Kanye West and his new video for “Fade” made sure you did.

The whole video had G.O.O.D. Music signee seemingly recreating a vibe from Flashdance, as she dances danced around a gym covered in sweat/oil, showing off her incredible physique (especially just eight months after having a baby).

Some of the choreography climaxed during the final beats of her solo scenes.

it turns out, that choreography — partially seen above — was originally intended for Beyoncé a couple years ago, but she couldn’t roll around on the floor/use it because she was pregnant with Blue Ivy. She and her friend Matthew Pasterisa made the dance moves for Yoncé’s “End Of Time” video.

Taylor revealed the making and reaction to the video in a new interview with Vogue, where she described how the video came to fruition, her training habits (she pleads all she does is dance and workout a little), and how she had close to no idea the video would come out at the VMAs.

The final scene had Taylor, dressed as a cat, leaning against her husband — Iman Shumpert — with their kid amongst a row of sheep. She was asked the meaning, and she didn’t really know, because Kanye never explained it. They did poop a lot, though.

“Let’s talk about these sheep first, though. They were shitting all over the place—there was poop everywhere! And then little Junie is just so fearless; she’s playing with the sheep. I was just looking at Ye, like Yo, I don’t know what you got going on, but I know it’s going to be good. Because you know with Ye, you just gotta trust him. He’s a genius and you know he just got something up his sleeve.”

(To be honest, I’d have to think the idea delves into a “manger” type scene, where Iman and Taylor are Mary and Joseph and their beautiful black baby is Jesus.)
