Although he announced that he will release a new album in 2016, Common has kept mum on the details surrounding the project save for live performances of a single slated for it, “Black America Again.”
He has finally revealed a single, “Lovestar,” which serves as the official first single from the upcoming eleventh album. With a reference to his Hi-Teknology opener “The Sun God,” Common is joined by PJ and Marsha Ambrosius on the upbeat anthem on the, uh, love song. It’s a distant relative to his single “Come Close,” and is available on iTunes now.
