Teyana Taylor’s choreography in “Fade” — and the video as a whole — has deservedly been one of the more talked-about events in music over the last month since it debuted at the VMAs.
Plenty of people have tried to recreate the dance — including James Corden — but none have quite been able to match the oiled-up scenes of the visual.
The latest imitator comes in the form of a 7-foot-2 retired behemoth of a former basketball player in Shaquille O’Neal.
One of Shaq’s premium qualities on a basketball court was how nimble he looked in the post and moving up and down the floor despite being the human form of a rhinoceros, so the fact he can doesn’t mind gyrating his massive frame isn’t surprising.
It’s not like this kind of stuff is new to him…
But given Teyana Taylor’s movements in the video, Shaq is one of the last people you’d think of want to recreate it.
But on a lazy Sunday in the throes of the basketball offseason, the Big Diesel decided he wanted to try and one-up Mrs. Taylor.
Thankfully, he did not. Because doing to opposite would’ve been ridiculously terrifying.
