It’s no secret that a huge chunk of the RZA and Wu-Tang’s doctrine was built upon the foundations set up in classic, vintage kung-fu flicks. Their debut album, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) was named and modeled after The Shaw Brothers’ The 36th Chamber of Shaolin.

Recently, RZA was hired by theatre chain Alamo Drafthouse to live-score the aforementioned film at at Beyond Fest on October 12th, and will also make an exclusive appearance at the Stateside Theatre in Austin, Texas on September 29th.

If you recall, RZA has scored many films in the past, including Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai, Kill Bill vol. 1, The Man With the Iron Fists and Blade: Trinity, so this live-score should be interesting to say the least.
