Following a quick run to Nowhere with The KickDrums in 2015, DUCKWRTH recaptured our attention in July with the ultra seductive, dance-ready “Get UUGLY” featuring Georgia Anne Muldrow.

From there, the Los Angeles-based creative took to the streets on his trusty “Lowridr” bike on a hunt for an elusive “Rare Panther.”

Together, the trio of songs help make up a third of DUCKWRTH’s new album, I’M UUGLY — which arrives at the stroke of midnight (9/23).

“UUGLY is a term of acceptance,” DUCKWRTH explained to Mass Appeal. “Psychiatrists always say that there is no way to move on and grow from a situation without first accepting what’s been giving you trouble in the first place.

“The whole album is about my struggles and certain dreamy foreshadowing of success and triumph in the near future. My acceptance was putting my struggles or UUGLY(s) on display. By me admitting it in audio form (and to the world), I am forced to push for something greater. Riding the bus today, first class flights tomorrow. Procrastination today, taking & owning my space tomorrow. Prejudice against darker skin today, produce Brown coloured garments tomorrow. Gun violence today, new acts to band guns tomorrow (wishful thinking). I don’t deny the ills or flaws are there. Instead, I wear the uuglies with pride, therefore “I’M UUGLY.”
