John Reilly – “Rabbit Hole” (Video)

blame it on JES7 September 27, 2016

There’s an apparent juxtaposition between John Reilly’s previous video, “Bully Pulpit” and his newest clip (fresh out of the oven), “Rabbit Hole.”

While the former was stuffed full of humor — mostly of his time spent terrorizing kids on the school yard, “Rabbit Hole” focuses on his past (and present) battles with personal demons, from dealing with the death of loved ones, depression and the heavy responsibilities of fatherhood.

It’s also these same demons he’s had to face which led him to break off into a solo career and away from his indie underground group The Day Laborers.

While for the most part, Reilly has conquered the incubus that has manifested in his life (represented by the masked men who pop up throughout the video), the Long Island emcee acknowledges that there’s still work to be done, and if he continues to let the negative thoughts restrain him, the fall through the dark rabbit hole will only feel more infinite.
