Because, what’s a couple extra dollars?

According to Deadline, JAY Z recently inked a two-year television and film deal with film studio — and kind of a big deal — The Weinstein Company. The first-look aims to generate movies as well as both scripted and unscripted (read: reality programming) TV shows.

Jay has flirted with film and television before, and not just the Roc-A-Films hood classics Death Of A Dynasty, Paid In Full and the State Property flicks. He was a producer on the 2014 remake of Annie, co-produced 2014’s Top Five starring Chris Rock, and was an executive producer (with The Bullitts) for the 2013 remake of The Great Gatsby.

“I’m excited to tell stories from real-life prophets, whom through their struggles have changed the world for the better, and others whose stories are filled with fantasy and delight,” said JAY via statement. “Harvey and David [Weinstein] are visionaries both of whom have done this time and time again. I’m already passionate about what we currently have in the pipeline and I’m looking forward to discovering others.”

Suffice to say…
