Gorillaz Drop Another Visual Story, “The Book Of Russell”

Earlier this week, the Gorillaz official Instagram account posted a series of videos telling the story of Noodle — the band’s lead guitarist. The videos came with a ton of illustration from Jamie Hewlett as it detailed what Noodle had been up to since the band’s last two albums, Plastic Beach and The Fall.

Today, Russel — the drummer — gets his story told.

After being taken hostage and displayed as “North Korean Godzilla” due his size (he grew sixty times bigger while swimming away from Plastic Beach), Russel was later released after food rations in North Korea caused him to shrink back to normal size.

Russel eventually landed in London — close to the home of Murdoc, the bassist — and, as the story says, “the band was getting back together.”
