It’s safe to assume that 2Pac will be the next inductee in music’s most hallowed halls.

‘Pac, in his first year of eligibility, is among the many nominees for the 2017 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. For an artist to qualify for the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, 25 years have to pass after their first release. ‘Pac will hit that mark on November 12th, commemorating the anniversary of his debut album 2Pacalypse Now.

Tupac is joined by Janet Jackson, Chaka Khan, Depeche Mode, Chic, Jane’s Addiction and several others as nominees for the honor. Inductees will be honored in April 2017 at a ceremony at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.

Alongside the 800 artists, historians and music industry insiders, the general public will have the opportunity to vote as well. Those who would like to vote can do so now (until December 6th) at Rolling Stone.

If inducted, 2Pac will join N.W.A. (in 2016), Public Enemy (in 2012), The Beastie Boys (also in 2012), Run DMC (in 2009) and Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five (in 2007) as the sixth hip hop artist in the Hall.
