Kanye West Dedicates A Performance Of “Waves” & “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1” To Kid Cudi

There was a blip in Kanye West and Kid Cudi’s relationship a couple months ago when Cudi grouped Kanye West in a string of artists who don’t care about the influence Scott Mescudi’s had on the music world.

But Kanye quickly came back on his “diss” that he “birthed” Kid Cudi and called him one of the most influential artists of the last decade.

Kid Cudi entered rehab soon after (but not because of) that citing severe depression and thoughts of suicide. Mental illness and depression have been common themes in Cudi’s music since we’ve known him as an artist, and it’s good Cudi putting the music aside for his health.

At his first Saint Pablo tour date of many in Inglewood, Kanye showed support for Cudi’s health during a performance of “Waves.”

Letting the fluttering instrumental fly, Kanye repeatedly sang Cudi’s hook to “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1” over and over, encouraging the crowd to sing it so loud Cudder could hear it all the way in rehab.
