Ariano’s “Everything’s OK” is the latest single peeled off his upcoming EP Love Is Not Lazy, and man, it’s a pretty sobering affair; part public service announcement, part prophecy — and it arrives at a strange and dismal time in America.

The So Cal underground vet, known for his work with 2Mex, the Visionaries, Snoop Dogg and Zion I, addresses the ills our country and the world at large faces: social media’s hostile takeover of our lives, the growing prevalence of painkiller addictions & deaths, society falling into the traps of fear mongering and more are addressed over the course of three-and-a-half minutes.

It’s pensive and moody, driven by his cloudy, minimal production and designed to spark conversation, both from within and with the rest of the world, with a cheeky chorus that pokes fun at the dismissive half of America, who refuse to acknowledge these dire situations: “Nobody’s dying, and everything’s ok // Sit on the couch, and just tell yourself it’ll work itself out, yeah it’s ok.”

“Everything’s OK” is available on iTunes, Amazon; while Ariano’s EP, Love Is Not Lazy (out December 9th) can be pre-ordered here.
