Drake’s AMA Acceptance Speech Was Definitely Aimed Toward Someone…

Drake was among the winners at the 2016 American Music Awards, picking up trophies for Favorite Rap/Hip Hop Artist, Favorite Song, Soul/R&B (for his and Rihanna’s “Work”) and Favorite Song, Rap/Hip Hop (for “Hotline Bling”). However, he garnered more attention for his acceptance speech than for his wins.

While picking up the award for Favorite Rap/Hip Hop Artist, he used his time on stage to praise the likes of Future, Fetty Wap and his “One Dance” collaborator Kyla, while confirming that his second album of 2016 More Life will arrive before the year’s end. He then ended his speech with, “More chune for your head tops, so watch how you speak on my name you know?”

Sounds innocent enough, but given that Kanye West kinda-sorta backhand complimented him at his (ultimately final) Saint Pablo Tour stop in Sacramento, as well as Drake’s penchant for petty, it’s easy to assume that those words could be aimed at the artist he’s supposed to have a joint album with.

Drake also left an interesting comment on DJ Khaled’s Instagram as well…

Music in 2016, everyone.
