It’s been clear since the inception of The Weeknd’s new persona, Starboy, he’s wanted to document the character’s habits.
The video for Starboy‘s lead single and title track showed Starboy killing the old version of The Weeknd, and a more confident and violent singer tore apart a Hollywood mansion. The next video — “False Alarm” — showed what Starboy does, which is apparently rob banks and go on high-speed car chases.
Starboy will arrive this Friday, and soon after it drops, The Weeknd will drop a film to go along with it.
Monday afternoon, The Weeknd teased a “visual piece” called Mania that is “coming soon.” (So, in the music world, that could mean tomorrow or three months from now.)
