Chicago-based 119 Productions is “a collective of artists, filmmakers, and designers,” according to their website, with offices in Brooklyn, too.

They’re putting out a project called Countdown 2 Midnight that combines artists from the locations where both of their offices are located. The first song from the compilation joined King Louie, theMind, Dally Auston and OnGaud for “Vices,” and they follow it up with “Counterfiet” — a collaboration between Noname, Saba, Phoelix and Chelsea Reject.

The three Chicago artists — Noname, Saba and Phoelix — have all worked before on Saba’s Bucket List Project, Noname’s Telefone and beyond, so it’s not surprising “Counterfeit” is just as consistent.

Chelsea Reject joins the grouping with a passionate verse full of pain woven into black pride. “Traffic violations, loud music, Ain’t nothing worth your soul/Melanin skin shine, they know it’s worth more than your weight in gold,” she raps.
