For the last few years Busta Rhymes has eschewed releasing an album in favor of his dragon-tinged mixtapes, 2013’s The Abstract And The Dragon and 2015’s The Abstract Went On Vacation. To wrap up his 2016 (which saw his latest protégé O.T. Genasis” achieve success with “Cut It” and “Push It“), it appears that he may dip into that well once more.

Following his performance of “My Shot” with The Roots and Joell Ortiz on Fallon, Busta took to his Instagram to reveal that he will be releasing a pair of songs this Friday (December 9th) to announce his official signing to Epic Records (via his The Conglomerate ENT imprint):

It's time… #THECONGLOMERATE @epicrecords

Seems rather innocuous, but recently Busta previewed snippets of two unnamed songs he had been working on on Instagram as well, one with Swizz Beatz and another which appears to be a sequel to his cousin Rampage’s 1997 single “Wild for da Night,” from his debut album Scout’s Honor… By Way of Blood:

All goofiness aside, the songs sound pretty promising and could be the tracks he reveals this week.
