I still remember every word to “You.” I was 12, but Lloyd and Lil Wayne released one of the best song I’d ever heard in my life up until that point, and it made me think I could pursue a career in singing and rapping every time I heard with how well I could rock along to it.

Wayne and Lloyd haven’t made a song with just the two of them since 2008’s “Girls Around The World,” but it seems like (nearly) every time they get together (we’re excusing “BedRock” from their collaborations), it produces something more than worthwhile.

With Lloyd making a comeback — he’s releasing his first project, Tru, in more than five years tonight — the Atlanta native tries to create a spark by teaming up with Weezy again.

On “Holding,” Lloyd and Wayne largely stick to singing (there are no “you know you give good brain like you graduated from a good school” bars here), but the end result is a decent listen — one that has me interested in what else Lloyd has to offer.

Listen to “Holding” below, and pre-order Tru — which has features from Rick Ross and 2 Chainz (“Tru (Remix)“) — on iTunes.

UPDATE: Right on time, Lloyd delivers his Tru EP. Take a listen below and cop on iTunes.
