With the news of him suing RZA and the Wu-Tang Clan over unpaid royalties still fresh on the mind, U-God is looking to the booth as an outlet to vent his frustrations.

Today, the Brooklyn emcee holds nothing back on “Venom,” the title track off his fifth studio album dropping in early 2017.

“I can talk about my brothers. Why? They’re my f*cking brothers,” U-God says on the intro before warning others thinking of doing the same that they don’t share the same green light. “But don’t let me catch you talking about you gonna try and hurt one of my f*cking brothers, or you don’t like my brothers cause of this. That’s my family! I’ll punch you in your f*cking face! Yeah, we might not be getting along. Yeah, we got issues with each other. Regardless of that, we’re going through hell right now! We going through hell. And I’m sittin’ here; I ain’t faking it! We going through hell; we trying to get it right.”

Produced by DJ Homicide and 1200 Warriors, “Venom” is a hard-hitting effort that finds U-God really doing work on the mic. If the rest of the album sounds like this, the follow-up to 2009’s Dopium is definitely gonna be worth the listen.

Despite the legal troubles between them, U-God will help ring in the new year alongside his Wu family in Las Vegas.
