Just a quick recap: CeeLo Green is one-fourth of the legendary Goodie Mobb, and he’s also known for his solo singing career and his work with Danger Mouse under the Gnarls Barkely name.

Now just over a month ago, Mac Miller tweeted this:

“Hurt Me Now” — a song by Gnarly Davidson, which turned out to be a new project from CeeLo — was at a couple thousand views when Mac Miller tweeted it, but it’s now ballooned to almost 100,000. This was the first time I’d heard of Gnarly Davidson, though CeeLo had left little feelers out on the project for months before that.

Then this weekend, footage of a phone blowing up in CeeLo’s hand while using it leaked onto the Internet, causing an uproar toward Samsung, whose Galaxy S7’s have had problems recently of blowing up at random. After hours of no comment from CeeLo, he eventually revealed it was footage from an upcoming visual related to Gnarly Davidson and a phone didn’t actually blow up while he had it pressed to his ear.

In June, he told The Herald News Gnarly Davidson is a solo project with a sound similar to Gnarls Barkley, and that he’d be releasing a mixtape under the name. And now here we are with Gnarly Davidson’s new song, “Fuck Me, I’m Famous.”

The song came along with a video, which features a dwarf-sized version of CeeLo who sings and raps along with the pounding production (which sounds like it has a sample of Lipps Inc.’s “Funky Town”) with the confidence of normal-sized CeeLo.

As the name of the song indicates, Gnarly Davidson runs through lists of reason why you should get with him. With the two samples so far, it seems that Davidson might be a bit less dark and more accessible than Barkley.

There were rumors in 2015 that a new Gnarls Barkley would come out this year, but we’ve yet to hear a peep from CeeLo or Danger Mouse on that matter.
