Trey Songz Arrested After Destroying Stage, Punching Cop In Detroit

Trey Songz was arrested Wednesday night in Detroit after refusing to leave the stage, destroying equipment and resisting arrest after his microphone was cut off at a concert.

He was arrested on one count of assaulting a police officer causing injury and one count of aggravated assault. He was held on $25,000 bond.

Detroit radio station FM 98 hosted their annual Big Show at the Joe concert last night, and Trey Songz was one of the performers. At around 11:30 p.m., The Detroit News reports, when Songz was told his time was up, he became “upset and belligerent” and started throwing microphones and speakers around the stage.

The newspaper described the incident:

“Officers from the Gang Intelligence Unit who were detailed to the show came on stage, trying to calm the situation, but the artist allegedly kept throwing objects, one of which hit someone in the head. When a Detroit Police Department sergeant approached Songz to arrest him, Songz allegedly punched him, causing a concussion, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.”

Songz was still in custody as of the time the Detroit News article was publish, which was 1:19 p.m. on Thursday.
