Major Lazer‘s intentions have become pretty clear over the last couple years, shifting from being a fresh dancehall-influenced electronic group to a pillar of pop music. “Lean On,” “Cold Water” and other singles have helped Diplo’s group reach stardom since 2015, and they’re looking to release their next album, Music Is The Weapon, sometime this year.
Following 2015’s Peace Is The Mission, the upcoming project’s new single comes in the form of “Run Up” featuring PARTYNEXTDOOR and Nicki Minaj. Though it’s been assumed she’ll drop an album this year, Nicki did say in her verse, “’bout to drop an album, that’ll be my fourth,” so there’s something to look forward to on her end.
