Trinidad James has dipped into the waters of acting before, guesting on Major Lazer’s short-lived animated series and landing a role in the upcoming television movie Love by the 10th Date with Meagan Good, Kelly Rowland and Keri Hilson. Now, he will take his burgeoning talents to the silver screen.
The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that James — née Nicholas Joseph Williams — has signed on to appear in the third installment of Universal Pictures’ musical comedy franchise Pitch Perfect.
Starring actresses Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson, James will play a member of a competing singing group.
Trinidad is not the first “out-the-blue” person cast for the films: Snoop Dogg, acapella singing group Pentatonix and even NFL linebacker Clay Matthews appeared in Pitch Perfect 2.
Pitch Perfect 3 is slated to arrive in theaters December 22nd, 2017.
