Over the years, Kirk Knight has produced gems for the likes of Mick Jenkins, Smoke DZA, and of course the rest of his Pro Era squad — especially Joey Bada$$ and Nyck Caution. And now, with 2015’s Late Knight Special still in rotation (seriously, the album is dope), the emcee/producer returns with his first official instrumental album, Black Noise.

Locked in at 11 tracks, Knight delivers a collection of slow-rolling grooves, perfect for your next smoke session, study group, or drive through the city.

“I wanted to drop an instrumental album that created a soundscape of my production,” Kirk Knight tells FADER. “I grew up listening to J Dilla, Madlib and Flying Lotus, and I’ve always wanted to contribute to the culture of instrumental albums.”
