There aren’t many artists who I actually give a shit about when they surprise with music, but Mayer Hawthorne is a part of the small group that always pleases. His last two projects — Party of One and Fux With The Tux (with Jake One as Tuxedo) — have all come with little notice, and they’re two of the more pleasant releases of the last couple months.
Mayer revisited the former this week with a retro-style video for “Time For Love.” Silhouettes, neon lights and women singing background vocals flash across the screen as Mayer performs the song (which includes an awkwardly hilarious dance breakdown).
