Young M.A is one of New York’s most exciting newcomers, notching a platinum single in “OOOUUU” and dropping the supremely dope “Summer Story.” As she continues to expand her profile, having recently starred in a Beats By Dre spot, the Brooklyn lyricist is the focal point of FADER Magazine’s first-ever Sex Issue.
In her cover story, written by Julianne Escobedo Shepherd, M.A. — which stands for “Me, Always” — touches upon her barriers-breaking music, her background and more.
“If I change people’s lives, that’s all that matters to me. I don’t want to be the first ‘dyke rapper,’ ‘aggressive rapper.’ I don’t care for that.”
M.A. also dropped a freestyle for the magazine, which can be seen below.
FADER’s Sex Issue arrives on newsstands March 7th.
