Yesterday (Feb. 7th) marked what would have been the 43rd birthday of James Yancey, better known as J Dilla. With the likes of Cookin’ Soul and DOOM paying their respects, producer Thelonious Martin has followed with his own tribute to the late artist.

Releasing A Dozen For Dilla, Martin crafted a beat tape celebrating Jay Dee’s born day. A 12-track drop, the project is composed of Thelonious’ takes on some of Dilla’s influential works. A short but sweet release, the project can be streamed and purchased below.

Happy Birthday Dilla Dawg! ? #ripjdilla
