Baltimore’s latest buzzing mic-device champion MC Bravado is ready to re-enter his next classroom as he prepares the final notes on his dissertation for his Hip-Hop* presentation (“the asterisk symbolizes the attentiveness asked of the listener and serves as the embodiment of what’s been omitted from the game for far too long.”)

On the heels of releasing a string of one-offs and loosies, including “Brand New Bag” and “Enough’s Enough,” MC Bravado decides to hit his first period class with “Unfiltered” featuring Nitty Scott, MC, Real Deal and Time Police — the first single off Hip-Hop* (peep the sampler here).

Produced by EP of The Doppelgangaz, “Unfiltered” fine tunes the microscope on how society has put heavy pressure on how women should look, according to “normal” social standards, or as Bravado so eloquently puts it:

“Unfiltered” is the male and female perspective on a woman’s plight for approval and affection from men, in a society predisposed to sexism and a bias that often pressures women to fit an unrealistic and unsustainable physical and behavioral ideal. The song offers views from several vantage points and tries to explore the dichotomy of this issue in and honest and engaging fashion.

Because, (anti) social media.

At just 12-tracks with no filler, Hip-Hop* will feature OnCue, J57, KONCEPT, DeeJay Element, EP of the Doppelgangaz and more and will be released via Soulspazm on March 3rd.
