In between working on their twelfth studio album End Game and their continued work as the official house band for Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show, the Legendary Roots Crew somehow found themselves writing and producing an original piece of music titled “The Evolution of Greatness” for the 2017 NBA All-Star game.

Among the song’s contributors are Hamilton star Daveed Diggs, Black Panther/Fruitvale Station star Michael B. Jordan, Jidenna, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels and DJ Jazzy Jeff.

According to Billboard, “The Evolution of Greatness” “follows the historical path of the league from the 1950s to present day,” while The Late Show with Stephen Colbert house band leader Jon Batiste and Nikki Yanofsky set off the game’s festivities, performing the National Anthem.

UPDATE: John Legend came through and killed his performance. But for the NBA All-Star game? Maybe not.
