Don’t judge a book by its cover.

Buzzing Louisville, Kentucky emcee Jack Harlow rolls up his sleeves and prepares to put in work as he continues his foray into rap.

Apart from being highly proficient on mic devices, the 18 year old artist — whom just graduated high school last year — can also lay claim to being an owner of his own independent label/collective dubbed Private Garden Records, and, according to Earmilk, nearly inked a deal with Def Jam at the age of 14. Pretty wild when you sit back and think about it.

A few months ago, Jack released the appropriately titled 18, his debut project on Private Garden Records which also featured DopeHouse mainstay Nemo Achida, coupled with production from Syk Sense, Phinesse The Beat and Ace Pro.

With March Madness popping off in a couple of weeks, Jack makes his debut appearance at the DopeHouse with “Hitchcock,” his first offering of the new year. Produced by 2forwOyNE and J-Reid, the new single does reference the revered director of some of cinema’s greatest psychological thriller films of all time, even dropping a mention of Clockwork Orange — although the gist of the song serves simply as a dais for Jack to stand on and proclaim his developing greatness as a well-polished master of ceremonies.
