Brooklyn-based upstart Casanova caught the DopeHouse’s attention with the remix to his regional buzzer “Don’t Run,” with Fabolous, Dave East, Don Q and Young M.A Now, the rapper aims to make louder noise with his debut mixtape, Be Safe Tho.
A nod to his friend and podcast personality Taxstone (who, at the time of the project’s release, is incarcerated on weapons charges stemming from 2016’s Irving Plaza shooting, where the close friend of Troy Ave was killed, and Troy himself was shot and later arrested for his connection to the shooting), Be Safe Tho is an eleven-track project with contributions from the likes of Chris Brown, Jahlil Beats, The Heatmakerz and more.
