There’s Some Serious Badassery Going Down In the First ‘Justice League’ Trailer

This past Thursday, Warner Bros. started rolling out short promotional ads highlighting each core member of the upcoming Justice League movie, including Batman, Aquaman, Cyborg, The Flash and Wonder Woman — while simultaneously announcing the world premiere of the first trailer would be arriving Saturday, March 25th.

And sure enough, director Zack Snyder and Warner Bros. delivered on that promise, offering the world the first glimpse into the many battles which lie ahead for our favorite DC Comics superheroes, including the attempts to keep the DCEU’s McGuffin—the mother boxes—out of the hands of Darkseid’s lieutenant Steppenwolf and the slaying of lots and lots of Parademons.

It’s almost as if director Zack Snyder heard the critics’ complaints about the DCEU films being “too dark” and decided to add another brooding layer to the upcoming film’s palette. And you know what? I’m here for all of it.

Watch the official first trailer, set to the tune of both The White Stripes’ “Hardest Button To Button” and Aerosmith’s cover of “Come Together” below. And unlike the trailer for their previous film, Batman v Superman, the newest trailer doesn’t give much away as far as plot details go.

Justice League arrives in theaters on November 17.
