Buzzing DMV-based rapper MacGuyver has been heralded as one of the most promising, new independent artists to step out of the DC-Maryland-Virginia area. Following a handful of successful mixtapes and radio airplay, MacGuyver released his debut album 1984 on March 6th, with “Real Ones” serving as Mac’s latest single to represent the album. The song finds MacGuyver giving a positive outlook despite the world being against you.

“I just want the whole world to shine with me // Prince or peasant we could be all filthy // All forgotten n*ggas get a second shot // And all my bottom dwellers get to see the top.”

His fellow partner in rhyme from Virginia, Willie Waze is also featured on the track with a very personal story to share, while vocalist Sherell Rowe also shines, blessing the song’s hook.
