As he continues wrapping up the 50+ dates remaining on his massive Strictly Strange Tour (which spans 68 shows in 74 days), Tech N9ne recently decided to give back two-fold by teaming up with the Warrior Built Foundation and Monster Energy, while also giving one lucky rapper the chance to appear on a brand new song of his.

Together, with the backing of both aforestated companies, Tech N9ne and Krizz Kaliko recorded “PTSD” which aims to bring awareness to the quite serious and hellish disorder affecting between 10% to 18% of all OEF (Operation Enduring Freedom) and OIF (Operation Iraqi Freedom) wars (whereas roughly 22 veterans are known to commit suicide per day, or one every 65 minutes).

As a bonus, Tech also held an emcee contest, allowing “artists and rappers from around the country to submit a unique final verse, with the chance to win a trip to Kansas City to record with Tech N9ne, making an appearance in the song and video itself.” After sifting through countless submissions (read: 4,000), Tech and his team ended up choosing Jay Trilogy from Bloomington, Indiana as the contest winner.

On being chosen as the winner, Jay revealed:

I’ve been given a chance to take a huge step in my career and vastly increase my fanbase and it’s all because I kept at it and came harder instead of backing down!” On the purpose behind the contest, Jay said, “After taking a look into Warrior Built and what this contest was all about I was obsessed with being a part of it.
