So, the reception for Marvel and Netflix’ Iron Fist appears to be mixed, which is the equivalent of saying that the show is a dud compared to its predecessors Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage (details on the The Punisher are slim at this point, so it’s too early to judge). Perhaps Marvel and Netflix rushed the series to kick-start the roll-out for its ensemble series The Defenders.

Well, thanks to a proverbial Freudian slip, Netflix may have jumped the gun on the series a bit early.

Earlier this morning (April 4th) Netflix appeared to have accidentally uploaded a 15-second teaser to their YourTube account for The Defenders, in the form of “security camera footage” of the four characters — Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist — in an elevator. Nothing special, but then Jessica Jones “stops” the camera at a very specific time: 8:18:20:17.

It didn’t take long for viewers to assume that “8:18:20:17” stood for August 18th, 2017, or, the formal release date of The Defenders. Since it was revealed back in 2016 that the show would premiere sometime in Summer 2017, this could be the official date after all. However, Netflix removed the video from their account and has made no mention of it thus far.
