There’s an interesting story behind the video for Ab-Soul‘s “INvocation” (featuring Kokane). But let animator RUFFMERCY explain it instead:
“Sometimes everything doesn’t go according to plan and the music video business kicks you in the ass.
“I got approached to draw on this video by the directing crew A+. I spent 3 weeks working on this video as well as adding a few effects and I consider it some of my best drawing to date. At the end after some small changes the Director disappeared on me. I’m guessing they or the label weren’t that into after all. So much so they decided to not pay me for it.
“So 3 weeks full time on this with no release & no money to show for it. Sucks Right. I hope some of you enjoy… and be careful out there.”
