Known for their love of the silver and bronze age of comic books, as well as all things nostalgic, CZARFACE (DJ 7L, Esoteric and Inspectah Deck) are ramping things up for fans of both their music and all things comic-related. With Record Store Day 2017 just a couple of weeks out (April 22nd), CZARFACE have just announced the upcoming release of First Weapon Drawn, a read-along comic book-soundtrack similar to Power Records’ collectible series of the 70s.

On the heels of their collaboration with Marvel last year, CZARFACE’s First Weapon Drawn is “powered by the trademark sound of The Czar-Keys,” who explain that “the first weapon drawn in a conflict is language, but the first weapon drawn for Czarface is the music.”

Before the project’s release later this month, the trio of veterans share “Death of a Comrade,” with the story told by Seamus Ryan and cover artwork provided by L’amour Supreme, and can be heard below. Revisit CZARFACE’s latest album, A Fistful of Peril here.

Czarface recently announced a new audio adventure complete with narration and an extra-large, full color, action-packed 24 page comic book with it! In the spirit of the highly sought after Power Records series from the 70’s, you can read along with the Gilberto Aguirre Mata-illustrated comic and hear the story come to life on vinyl with this Record Store Day release.
