Kamasi Washington last released a project, The Epic, when I first started with 2DopeBoyz almost two years ago, so needless to say, it’s been a minute. But can you blame him? The nearly three-hour album garnered critical acclaim, but that’s a helluva lot of energy and music to put in one project.
Washington is set on returning this year, though, with the Harmony of Difference EP, set to drop sometime this summer. Today, he shares the first song from the project, “Truth,” and released a short film with it, too.
At 14 minutes, the song features three acts, each set to different styles of visuals across the short film. Watch it below.
