For a while now, Lil Wayne has been (bitterly) distancing himself from the only label he’s known, Cash Money Records. While things appear to be at a stalemate between he and adoptive father-turned-nemesis Birdman, Weezy has been proclaiming his allegiance to another well-known label: JAY Z’s Roc Nation.
Well, at a recent concert in Pennsylvania Wayne announced that he has now signed to the label. “Is it cool if I just say it? It’s the Roc,” Wayne said during his performance at Slippery Rock University. “You know I’m a member of that team now.”
Whether this means he’s finally freed from his Cash Money ties remains to be seen.
