Britain’s Jay Prince is slowly working on building his buzz on this side of the pond. Half a year ago, he released his Smile Good mixtape, which came a year after the Beautiful Mercy EP that helped put him on our radar in the first place anyway.
Out in California because of an upcoming Coachella set with Mura Masa, Prince stopped by Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show to premiere “Peace of Mind,” a routinely soulful effort from Prince preaching love and black excellence.
Prince also talked about meeting Chance the Rapper. “[He’s] one of those people I’ve met that was exactly how I imagined; we’d chill on his tour bus and play Nintendo.” He finally conceded he’s trying to get Isaiah Rashad on a song, which we’d more than welcome.
