Following a profile in VICELAND’s Noisey: Bay Area documentary, Nef The Pharaoh plans to release his mixtape The Chang Project in May 2017, with features from Ty Dolla $ign, Larry June, Jay Ant and others.
He has released the first single from it, “Spice,” with Yhung T.O. of SOB x RBE. Shot during his 2017 SXSW trip, Nef says that the song “is about the elevation of my life. Just me being from the hood and making a 360 180 in a year. I pay my mom’s bills and do right in my life. After doing so much wrong, it feels good to do things right. I got here through hard work and dedication. I’m trying to be here for a long time.”
