When it comes to reciting rhymes, Talib Kweli and Styles P are two of the best to ever do it. So, when the two announced they were partnering up for a new project, hip hop heads worldwide rejoiced.

Collaborating on a handful of hip hop gems in the past, the talented lyricists reunited in February for the release of “Last Ones.” A month later, a video was released. Followed by the Marco Polo-laced “Nine Point Five” with the rest of The LOX and Niko High.

Now, on the same day that Kendrick Lamar unleashed DAMN. to the masses, Kweli and The Ghost deliver a barrage of bars on their new project, The Seven.

“As hip-hop grows to the point where many rappers have become caricatures of themselves, myself and Styles P remain a part of a group of MCs that still consider the culture in every decision we make,” Talib Kweli told told DJ Booth. “[We are] the last ones left.”

Locked in at seven tracks, The Seven also features contributions from Common, Chris Rivers, Rapsody and Vic Orena.
